Ms. Mossman is a former award-winning editorial cartoonist Now, she writes and illustrates children’s books, with a more recent foray into serious adult fiction, and some non-fiction.
Her work includes children’s series such as, Olivia Petunia, The Cat is Bonkers, the Klaxan Chronicles, and Stories Grampa Told Me. Other books in the adult sector have autobiographical humour, a biography and a cartoon book on the ‘joys’ of fishing.
Her whole book-writing career actually started with a cartoon strip which morphed into a set of 12 graphic novels called Grampa Was an Alien. From there two other series were created, one for teens and young adults, and one for younger readers, based on the original 12 books.
She also illustrates for other children’s authors, among them, Teresa Schapansky (Along the Way series and One Little Coin).
Ms. Mossman lives in the Cowichan Valley, with her husband, writing and illustrating, painting, and whatever other sundry creations she can think of. Serious works of art, includes photography-based art, oil painting, portraits, landscapes and still life paintings.
